2017 WGRC Spring Soccer

WGRC Soccer provides a fun and competitive way to learn soccer through play with classmates and local communities. Led by OYSAN trained & certified directors and club coaches, everyone is welcome to play and learn the game, no matter their experience. Your child did not need to play in the fall to play in the spring.

The U-8 - U14 Spring Soccer Season starts with practices in March. Games begin in April and run through the beginning of June. U-4 - U-6 starts in mid-April. Additional skill sessions may be offered depending on field availability. Games will be against other Lake and Geauga Teams. WGRC teams have licensed and volunteer coaches.

Interested in Helping?

Coaches: Coaches are needed and will have their child's fee waived. We are looking for coaches and assistant coaches for all levels. If interested, please contact Jeff Mann at 440-729-0158 or email wgrcsoccer@gmail.com. The more coaches and assistant coaches we have, the more teams we can create and the more individual attention can be given to teaching skills.

Administrative Help: The WGRC Soccer Committee is in need of administrative help (creating teams, scheduling, communications, etc.) so that soccer can continue in our community.  Please email wgrcsoccer@gmail.com if you are able to help.

Referees: WGRC is looking for referees for their soccer games. In order to be a ref in the WGRC league, you must be interested in promoting the love of the game of soccer with the youth of our community. Ideal candidates include current and former players, "soccer moms and dads", and anyone interested in teaching youth the rules of the game. Training classes will be made available, as all referees must hold a Grade 9 referee certification. People who are interested should contact wgrcsoccer@gmail.com.

Field Set-up and lining: Help set the soccer fields up prior to the start of the soccer season. Also, re-line them once per week and help keep the fields well maintained for the safety of the players.

Equipment Coordinator: Organize, stock, and distribute the team equipment bags prior to each season. Collect and and restock them at the end of the season.

Tournament: Help is needed in planning and running the Annual Fall Tournament.
