The WGRC depends upon community volunteers to plan and manage all recreational activities, programs and fundraising.
No tax dollars are used to support the organization. Instead, we rely on our community fundraising efforts and on proceeds derived from recreational activities that are coordinated by our volunteer families.
There is no monetary cost to join. We only ask for some of your time by either serving on the Executive Board or by volunteering on at least one committee and volunteer for one major event (e.g. camp clean-up, tournaments, etc.) Volunteers are also asked to attend monthly meetings held at the campsite during the summer and at the Geauga County Library’s West Branch in the winter.
In return, volunteer families enjoy many benefits including discounted fees, campouts, social events and pool privileges. Families also make many new friends and are satisfied knowing that they are doing something important for their children and their community.
